PROMPT

Create transition scripts and cues for my child. Ask for age and top transition problems. Output: scripts + cue plan + troubleshooting for refusal.

How It Works

A reusable toolkit for the moments that trigger most daily conflict: stopping fun and starting tasks.

Triggers

  1. Leaving playground/daycare
  2. Switching from play to meals/homework
  3. Cleanup refusal
  4. Bathtime/bedtime transitions

Steps

  1. Identify top 3 transitions and when they occur.
  2. Choose a cue system: timer, visual countdown, song, or routine phrase.
  3. Use "first/then" language and 2 choices.
  4. Create a micro-reward for cooperation (attention, not candy).
  5. After success: praise specifically; after failure: reset calmly.

Constraints & Edge Cases

  • Sensory overload transitions require sensory adjustments.
  • Chronic refusal may require sleep/routine changes.

Expected Outcomes

  • Faster transitions
  • Less yelling and bargaining
