Connect a Z.ai Coding Plan to Kilo
The Z.ai Coding Plan uses its own plan key and coding endpoint. Kilo is an officially supported coding client.

How to connect Z.ai Coding Plan to Kilo

Subscribe to Z.ai Coding Plan
Purchase the coding plan from the provider. Coding-plan access and ordinary pay-as-you-go API billing are separate products.

Copy the plan-specific key
Open the plan dashboard and copy the credential issued for the subscription. Do not substitute a standard pay-as-you-go API key.

Open Kilo BYOK settings
Choose the dedicated Z.ai Coding Plan entry so Kilo uses the plan endpoint and quota rather than standard API billing.

Save and test the plan
Paste the key, save it, select a model included with the plan, and send a test request. Check the provider dashboard to confirm plan quota was used.
Before you connect
- Choose the dedicated Coding Plan entry, not generic Z.ai pay-as-you-go.
- Individual and Team Plan keys are managed in different sections of Z.ai.
