Kilo League Challenges — Official Rules

1. Eligibility

Kilo League challenges are open to individuals aged 18 or older at the time of entry. Employees of Kilo Code, Inc. ("Kilo") and their immediate family members are not eligible. Void where prohibited by law.

2. Challenge Period

Each challenge has its own start and end date, announced via the Kilo Discord server and IDE notifications. All submissions must be received within the window specified for each individual challenge.

3. How to Enter

To enter a Kilo League challenge, participants must:

  • Have a free Kilo account at app.kilo.ai
  • Complete the challenge as described in the challenge announcement on Discord
  • Submit their entry via the method specified in the challenge announcement (e.g. a Typeform, Discord post, or direct submission)
  • Submit before the stated deadline

Limit one entry per person per challenge. Multiple submissions from the same individual will result in only the first valid entry being considered. No purchase is necessary to enter or win.

4. Prizes

Prize details are announced with each individual challenge. Prizes may include Kilo Credits, hardware, cash, or other items at Kilo's discretion.

All winners will also receive promotional features across Kilo's official channels, including but not limited to social media, blog, newsletter, and Discord community.

Kilo Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value. Credits will be applied to the winner's Kilo account and must be used within 90 days of issuance. Physical prizes are subject to availability and may be substituted with a prize of equal or greater value at Kilo's discretion.

5. Judging Criteria

Judging criteria vary by challenge and are described in each challenge announcement. Submissions are generally evaluated on creativity, technical quality, and how well the entry fits the challenge theme.

The Kilo team will have final judging input. There may be a mix of Kilo team and community judging, subject to change throughout a challenge. Judging decisions are final and at the sole discretion of Kilo.

6. Winner Notification

Winners will be notified via the contact information provided in their submission within 14 days of the challenge end date. Winners must respond within 7 days to claim their prize. Failure to respond may result in forfeiture and selection of an alternate winner.

7. Content Rights

By entering, participants grant Kilo a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, and display their submission for promotional purposes. Participants retain ownership of their original work.

8. Disqualification

Kilo reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:

  • Violates these terms and conditions
  • Engages in fraudulent, deceptive, or dishonest practices of any kind
  • Attempts to manipulate voting, judging, or challenge results
  • Uses automated systems, bots, or scripts to gain an unfair advantage
  • Submits work that is not their own original creation
  • Submits content that is offensive, illegal, or violates any applicable law
  • Violates Kilo's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
  • Creates multiple accounts to circumvent the one-entry-per-person rule

Disqualified participants forfeit any prizes and may be banned from future Kilo League challenges. Kilo's disqualification decisions are final.

9. Modifications

Kilo reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate any challenge at any time and for any reason, including changes to rules, eligibility, judging criteria, prizes, or deadlines. Continued participation after any modifications constitutes acceptance of those changes.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kilo and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any damages arising from participation in a challenge or acceptance of any prize. Kilo is not responsible for:

  • Technical failures or malfunctions
  • Lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected submissions
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of entries
  • Any injury or damage to a participant's computer or property

11. Privacy

Information collected from participants will be used in accordance with Kilo's Privacy Policy.

12. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to a Kilo League challenge or these terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall take place in San Francisco, California and shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. Each party waives any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action. This arbitration clause does not prevent either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction where necessary to prevent irreparable harm.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.
